my cat wants to mate

There's a neighborhood kitten who's been coming over to our garden in search of food. This kitten also wants to  play and my cat encourages her and even shares his food with her. But as it turns out, my cat has an ulterior motive. He wants to mate with her. As soon as the kitten is absorbed with her free meal, my cat positions himself on her back, bits her nape and tries to mate. Unfortunately for my cat, mating is the farthest thing from the kitten's mind and she expresses her displeasure everytime it happens. One thing I can say for my cat, he never gives up.

My cat's right cheek is bleeding. I think he had a major, major spat with the neighborhood tomcat last night over a feline.
